Who is the Greensboro Partnership? Who are their members? What are they're real goals? 6. Action Greensboro Board Of Directors
After yesterday's discovery that internet searches for the boards of directors of Action Greensboro, the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce all lead to the Greensboro Partnership I thought I'd spend some time trying to find out who runs the 3 non profits that run the non profit Greensboro Partnership. So far I've been unable to locate a board of directors for Action Greensboro. continue reading...

8. Downtown Greensboro Incorporated Board of Directors
After failing to find different boards of directors for Action Greensboro, the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and the Greensboro Partnership I thought I'd take a look at some of the other non-profit organizations involved in the governmental and civic operations of Greensboro, North Carolina beginning with DGI, aka Downtown Greensboro Incorporated. From the DGI website: continue reading...

9. synerG Board Of Directors
From what I can determine, synerG neither has nor needs a board of directors as it is operated by and for Action Greensboro. Apparently, membership is restricted to 20 select young professionals who, for the most part, reside in Greensboro. According to their website, one of their goals is to promote connectedness. Considering that all the Greensboro organizations I've discussed thus far all seem to be one in the same they probably find meeting that goal to be rather easy. Since their inception in 2001, it appears their only claim to fame is the building of the downtown WIFI system that serves South Elm St. and City Center Park. continue reading...

11. Grassroots Productions Limited Board Of Directors
Almost everyone knows that Betty Cone runs Grassroots Productions Limited, the 501(3)(c) non profit organization responsible for the Fun 4th Festival and the Festival of Lights. So far I have been unable to determine who sits on Ms Cone's board of directors but Betty Cone does or did have a seat on the boards of the Carolina Theater, the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, Downtown Greensboro Incorporated, the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro Inc. and other area non profits. continue reading...

18. Housing Greensboro
Housing Greensboro is but another of the area non profits I'm looking at solely because they receive funding from the City of Greensboro. Their board is plainly stated on their website for all the world to see. They are in the business of helping Greensboro home owners repair and rehab their homes. I wonder if they'd help me with a new roof? continue reading...

From GPAC2012:

20. Bill Knight On The Greensboro Chamber Of Commerce

22. Closing In On Moses Cone

24. Young Men's Christian Association of Greensboro
The Young Men's Christian Association of Greensboro was suspended by the State of North Carolina in July of 2011 and reinstated the following month. It seems the NC Department of Revenue has issues but apparently they were quickly resolved. Sometimes people forget to fill out forms until a letter comes in the mail informing them of their mistakes and possible consequences. Too bad that Trebic never resolved their issues from 6 years ago. continue reading...

28.Joseph M Bryan Foundation Board Of Directors
How do you run an entire city? One way is through the use of bribes campaign contributions to individual politicians and local political interests. Another way is by becoming a major benefactor to area non profits, governments and a very important customer to local businesses. So important that their owners contribute to and vote for those persons you want to see elected. And so begins my report on the Joseph M Bryan Foundation-- Greensboro and Guilford County's biggest and most influential non profit organization with assets of over $20 Million. continue reading...

29. Michael W Haley Foundation Inc Board Of Directors Unknown
Yes, I know most of my efforts are dead ends but when you're searching for a needle in a stack of lawyers it just requires peeling back lots of layers. Besides, I know there's a prize in the box because I put it there to save for later.

Michael W Haley is on the board of directors of the Joseph M Bryan Foundation. Or he was on the board in 1984 when the list was published. continue reading...

30. The Jean And Taylor Brooks Foundation Inc
One thing this investigation has created is questions-- lots of questions. 33. Guilford Green Foundation
I had a lesbian roommate roughly 20 years ago. It was pretty much like being married except that neither one of us was having sex with anyone. You see, any woman either one of us met automatically assumed that the two of us were trying to pull off some kinky threesomes so they quickly got out of our lives. And while I might have gone there at that point in my life there was no way in hell my roommate was going to let that happen. continue reading...

40. When You Screw Up, Reinvent Yourself?
My Daddy was a nobody but little did I know how much he was loved until his funeral a few years ago. So often we hear of elderly people who die and almost no one attends their funeral but that wasn't the case with Daddy's funeral. When Daddy passed it was standing room only in a big church in East Greensboro and the miles long funeral procession required escorts by not only the Greensboro Police Department but also by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. continue reading...

41.Tannenbaum Sternberger Foundation
