It was sad to hear about the shooting death of 18 year old Michael Felka in a gang fight outside the Greensboro Youth Council Carnival Friday night but that's what prompted me to take a look at GYC.
Like me, the GYC is old as dirt and is managed by an executive board made up of high school students with oversight by the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. I guess, being the GYC is not involved in real estate development, our local "movers and shakers" have never seen a need to bring it into the local "non profit" fold.
A good thing, don't you think?
